Sitting in the heart of Silverton, John Dynon is one of Australia's top selling artists.
Born in Broken Hill in 1954, John always displayed a talent for capturing things on paper.
He left school at 14 and worked on several sheep stations in NSW and Queensland.
Four years later he headed underground to take up mining in Broken Hill.

John said it was this incredible lifestyle that kindled his passion for the changing moods of the outback.
In 1985 he became a full time artist to meet the demand that had grown for his paintings.
A canvas touched by John depicts the length and breadth of the Australian Outback, and the region's ever-changing character - from the natural to the man-made, from the romance of the environment to bright abundant wildflowers in spring.

John caters for all tastes with landscapes, historical buildings, flowers and his famous outback sunsets.
While he works in Silverton, John's work is represented in collections throughout the world and is featured in exhibitions just as far afield.

His name can be found in a number of major art reference books, including "Kevin Hill's Top Ten Australian Artists", "Australian Artists of Today", "Artists of Broken Hill" and "Blue Sky, Blue Bush and Silver".
He has been featured on a number of high-profile television programs including "The 7.30 Report", "Aussie Top Spot", "The World Around Us", "The Great Outdoors" and "Healthy, Wealthy and Wise".
The John Dynon Art Gallery and Studio is open from 9am to 5pm, seven days a week. It stocks a range of souvenirs, prints and paintings.
